BIOMEDEA

The objective of BIOMEDEA is to develop and establish consensus on European criteria, guidelines and protocols for the harmonization and accreditation of high quality Medical and Biological Engineering and Science programs, and for the training, certification and continuing education of professionals working in the health care systems. Adherence to these guidelines and protocols will insure mobility in education and employment as well as the necessary safety for patients. More...

BIOMEDEA WORKSHOPS AND SYMPOSIUM ON PATIENT SAFETY

To discuss the criteria, guidelines and protocols that are being written in the course of the project, three symposia/workshops were scheduled. The first two meetings with participation from more than 50 universities and societies took place in Eindhoven (December 2004) and Warsaw (April 2005). The third meeting, scheduled for September 23-25, 2005, in Stuttgart, will feature a series of workshops and an international symposium on an important issue of quality assurance in biomedical/clinical/hospital engineering: patient safety. Several working group meetings, including the EAMBES Executive Board and the EAMBES Boards of the Divisions will precede the conference on September 22, 2005.

BIOMEDEA and the Visibility of Biomedical Engineering in Europe - an invitation from the President of EAMBES.

Biomedea III is organised by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Stuttgart,

in co-operation with WHO, co-sponsored by the University of Stuttgart and IFMBE, and endorsed by EAMBES.
